I saw this in an episode of QI and laughed my ass off at it, so I went and searched YouTube for the clip…

I saw this on boards.ie’s Grand Theft Auto forum last night and thought it was excellent. Someone has gone and remade the famous intro sequence from The Naked Gun in GTA4
Here is the original intro from the film:
While we’re at it, here’s the Family Guy version:
Crap quality but its the only one on Youtube. It gets extra points for the Doom reference
Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the guys behind South Park and Team America have made every episode of South Park available for free from their website, southparkstudios.com.
They’re high quality streams, and they’re right up to date too. You can watch the episode that aired on US TV on Wednesday night right here. There is apparently some contractual restriction with Comedy Central that means new episodes will only be available on the site initially for 7 days, but then after 30 days they will be permanently available.
I love you Matt and Trey

The first episode of Ashes to Ashes was screened on BBC1 on Thursday night and it was excellent, as expected. If you’re not familiar with it, Ashes to Ashes is essentially a sequel series to the brilliant Life on Mars, which finished its two-series run last year. You could consider it to be the continued adventures of DCI Gene Hunt, in 1981 :). He has moved from Manchester to London and has traded his Ford Cortina for an Audi Quattro.
There was what looked like a Miami Vice tribute going on in there too:

This is well worth watching.
I just saw the first episode of this new US show, Dexter, and I like it a lot. Think of it as an evil CSI Miami, without the bling bling. Of course, when I say “new” I mean “new here”. The first season has already finished its run in the US, and shooting of the second started this week. FX are showing it in the UK and Ireland on Sky Digital starting in July.
Highly recommended viewing
This clip dates from around 1999. It features Michael Moore and a pink bus full of homosexuals called the Sodomobile ![]()
He’s using the bus to tour around states in the US in which (at least in 1999) homosexuality is illegal. They encounter the notorious Pastor Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist “Church”. If you haven’t heard of these assholes, I suggest you find and watch the Louis Theroux documentary on it that screened on BBC2 recently. Its called “The Most Hated Family in America”.
Here’s a quick synopsis of them: They travel around America, picketing funerals of gay people, soldiers and pretty much anyone else they believe to be a “fag enabler”. They’re some sick twisted fucks. I’m not going to link to their (awful) website.
Old Phelpsy is a lot younger looking in that clip than he is in Louis Theroux’s much more recent programme. I wonder how they’d like it if the sodomobile showed up for his funeral?
Here’s your chance to own one of the four surviving cars used to film Knight Rider - A 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, complete with all the interior bells and whistles used in the show! Yours for a cool $150,000.

You’ll have to go to Dublin to pick it up… Dublin, California.

Season 6 of The Shield starts in the US tonight. I look forward to eventually seeing it. *ahem*
Rescue Me season 4 also starts this Saturday. Good times.
The first episode of South Park’s 11th season aired on Comedy Central last night in the states. Its now all over your nearest bit torrent site!
RTE News (heh) tells us today to lube up and bend over in preparation for a shafting from a bunch of greedy television licence bastards:
Television is now much more than a ‘box in the corner’, and the concept of a television licence fee may have to be changed to include such developments as mobile phone streaming and websites such as YouTube, an Oireachtas committee has been told.
So they want to force people to get TV licences for things that have FUCK ALL to do with public service broadcasting? Fuck off. RTE shouldn’t get any TV licence income at all, unless they produce a service like the BBC does. RTE gets TV licence cash and advertising income, and most of its home-made output is still complete crap. Fair City anyone? Celebrity-jigs-and-complete-bollix? Please.
Here’s some more bullshit:
Technology expert Ronan Coy said television can include anything that is made visually available to the consumer, including developments such as Internet-based television stations and video blogging.
Update 15/01/2007: I had called Ronan a wanker for the above, but he informs me that RTE took his comments out of context. See his comment below. Sorry Ronan, I apologise for that.
