Privacy counts for nothing in America
I don’t hate America or anything but some pretty stupid things come out of court cases there. Such as this.
Google must divulge the viewing habits of every user who has ever watched any video on YouTube, a US court has ruled.
wtf?

The Naked Gun, GTA4 Style
I saw this on boards.ie’s Grand Theft Auto forum last night and thought it was excellent. Someone has gone and remade the famous intro sequence from The Naked Gun in GTA4
Here is the original intro from the film:
While we’re at it, here’s the Family Guy version:
Crap quality but its the only one on Youtube. It gets extra points for the Doom reference
Bitstream broadband upgrades on the way!
Eircom, the telco everyone loves to hate, has announced that they are upgrading their bitstream broadband products all round… unless you’re on a 1Mb deal, in which case it sucks to be you.
If you’re on a 2Mb product you’ll be going to 3Mb.
If you’re on 3Mb you’ll be going to 7.6Mb.
If you’re on 4Mb you’ll be going to 10Mb.
If you’re on 6Mb you’ll be going to 12Mb.
All of the above depends on the poxy Eircom copper between you and the exchange being up to the task. They haven’t mentioned if there will be any change in upstream speeds yet. Upgrades are being rolled out between now and June. Apparently this is all part of Eircom’s ADSL2+ rollout.
Great moments in Trolling

If you don’t know what rickrolling is, go here.

Flickr ego surfing
I came across this handy thing on the boards.ie photography forum ages ago. It’s BigHugeLabs’ flickr DNA web app. It’ll tell you all sorts if interesting stuff about your flickr account - here’s mine.
If you scroll right down to the bottom there’s an ego surf section that you can use to find out where your flickr photos are being used around the web. All of my flickr stuff is tagged as creative commons so I’ve found a good bit of it around without anyone telling me. The most used of my pictures seem to be the ones I took of exotic cars in Germany, which is not surprising to me, as they tend to be my most viewed on flickr too, as well as a shot I took of an aircraft traffic jam in JFK airport back in February. Apparently there was a bit of outrage in the US over passengers getting stranded on planes for hours shortly after so it came up high in search results and got used in a bunch of articles as a result.
<3 Gmail
Gmail just keeps getting better and better. They recently added free IMAP access, which has been a godsend. Now the available storage has just topped 5GB (depending on your definition of GB. Over 5000MB anyway!).
