I noticed the CD-ROM(!!) version had some fancy FMV sequences as well. My version had static cartoon-like cut scenes. I also remember at the time I didn't have a soundcard and I could only wistfully imagine what the exciting sound effects and music might be like! I think around that time I actually had a dream that I got a soundcard and played that game... erm, which is a bit sad on so many levels. I think I might have re-played it at a later stage when I got a better PC and Windows 95... but meh, for some reason I don't share your nostalgia on this one. The Tie Fighter CD bundled all the expansion packs and the l33t 640x480 mode that wasn't available on the floppy version together.
