Bell-end of the week: George Bush

George Bush sure has a great talent for saying stupid things. From today’s BBC News:

Mr Bush said he told Gen Musharraf it was not right to continue as both president and head of the military.

“My message was that we believe strongly in elections and that you ought to have elections soon and you need to take off your uniform,” Mr Bush told reporters.

“You can’t be the president and the head of the military at the same time, so I had a very frank discussion with him.”

Guess who the commander-in-chief of the US military is?

Epic.

Yeah, Bush is definitely no rocket scientist, but America has me shaking my head these days. Bush’s daddy was a mediocre president at best, but after two terms of a scandal-ridden president (and I ain’t just talking about sexual scandals) America put the mediocre president’s boy in office. He of course turned out out worse than mediocre–but now–now America seems to be calling for the scandal-ridden president’s scandalous wife. This strikes me as the epitome of stupid. Why not someone entirely different? Why not someone who we at least have a shot at honestly with. From the earliest days of Clinton, he and she belittled us with petty and not-so-petty lies. “I didn’t inhale, that depends on what your definition of “is” is.” and on and on. She said, “I will not use this senate seat as a springboard to the White House. WHATEVER! She’s had her eye on the prize his day one of Bill’s administration, and she has taken calculated and careful steps to insure nomination. Those who choose to ignore history are truly doomed to relive it. I say give some other person a shot at the White House, not someone we know we can’t trust. What’s next if we elect Hillary? Bush’s even more inept Twins? Then Chelsea? The older I get, the more politically agnostic I become–I have little faith in either political party, and I think it’s high time for another better party to hit somewhere in the middle.
