Weird Google ads / search terms

Google adsI notice that there have been some pretty bizarre Google ads appearing here recently. For instance, right now on the right-hand skyscraper ad box down towards the bottom of this page I can see this stuff you see to the right of this text.

Seriously, underwear girls, followed by “boys wearing high heels”, gambling and then Charlie Haughey? WTF?! Where the hell is this stuff coming from? I could vaguely see google serving up kinky shit like the high heels based on one of my posts from a few weeks ago entitled “Hot ‘n’ Sticky”, but where does old Charlie come into the equation? :)

This prompted me to go and have a look at my referrer logs, there’s bound to be some crazy search keywords in there too…

There’s loads of normal, every day stuff in there, and then there’s these:
Car porn
porn in the car (fap on the move)
beatmeat (fap fap fap)
drunkpussy (oo, filthy)
wife trader (Russian brides-r-us?)
sexy uniform (^_^)
getting owned (it happens)
white cracka (I guess I am)
ubuntu fonts are shit ( :) )
mcse a bitch (its not that hard)
directx 10 shitty driver support
feck cocks (yeah, feck those cocks!)
arse potato (lol)
fuck off tv license (I agree)
free movies of fucking (I recommend P2P networks)
heathrow is crap (I couldn’t agree more, I’m going there next month again :()
penis museum pictures (umm…)
drink driving how long in prison (lock ‘em up)
garda sexy (”sexy gardai” also appeared. Ooh, uniform fetish)
fat barbie (0_o)

I can see how a lot of those searches ended up here, with me ranting about TV licences and cars and Heathrow and stuff. But arse potatoes, drunk pussy and penius museums? O…K. Yes, I do realise that posting these here is probably going to attract many more such fucked up searches.

Sigma 10-20mm

I’ve just put in an order for one of these from one of my regular eBay sellers (this time not a Hong Konger). My camera bag has been lacking a proper wide angle lens since I got it. Should arrive next week :)
I’m going to bring it to China with me - hopefully I will have some free time to put it to good use.

This is cool technology

Needle patchThe painless injection, coming soon* to a patient near you, courtesy of HP! According to BBC news, HP has used its inkjet technology to develop a patch-like system for injecting medication painlessly. Instead of one big needle that goes deep into your skin, you get a patch containing 150 tiny needles that have much shallower penetration. The BBC news article has lots more information and diagrams of how it works.

As someone who utterly hates needles, I’m loving this idea. Lets just hope they don’t try to apply their inkjet cartridge business model to it!

* soon as in approximately 3 years.

Fortress Forever ROCKS.

I’ve been playing Fortress Forever since its release on Thursday and am now completely addicted to it. It brings me right back to the heyday of Team Fortress Classic. Good times! The FF team really have done a fantastic job with the game. There’s a few bugs that need ironing out but no showstoppers. Anyone who has any game that gives you the Source SDK Base (i.e. Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, or HL2:Deathmatch) can run Fortress Forever.

Fortress Forever - OUT NOW!

After 3 years of waiting and following the development of Fortress Forever, it is finally out. Windows client and dedicated server are available right now, and the Linux dedicated server is on its merry way! Today is my birthday, this is a nice birthday present!

You can get your hands on the client here (torrent). This torrent is the real deal, posted by the FF devs on their forums. It’ll be quicker than waiting in line for hours on the likes of Fileplanet :) For other mirors, check the FF site.

September 11th, 6 years on

Today is the 6th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. This is a thread that was being posted to on boards.ie as events unfolded on the day. Its quite fascinating the read peoples’ first reactions to the planes hitting the towers and then the collapse of the towers.
There are even comments about how “some country somewhere is gonna get some serious sh17 kicking in the next few weeks methinks….” - How correct they were.

Fortress Forever: this month!

Long-awaited Half-Life 2 mod Fortress Forever is to be released later this month - They’ve just announced it on their website. I’ve been following it since they announced the project around the time of the HL2 release in 2004. I’m a big Team Fortress Classic fan, and this mod is being developed by well known TFC fans. You may have seen some of their screenshots and videos - it all looks great.
Between this and Valve’s Team Fortress 2 in October, I don’t think I’m going to see the light of day for quite some time…

Belgium vs Scientology

Three cheers for Belgium! According to the Associated Press, Belgian prosecutors are recommending that a case be brought against a number of high level officials of the Church of Scientology in Belgium on charges of fraud, extortion, unlawful practice of medicine, violations of privacy and … being a criminal organisation!

Oh how delicious. Clearly this is the work of the evil Lord Xenu!
