Faugheen Photos
by Steve on Jul.28, 2007, under Ireland, Motors, Photos
I went along to the practice session in Faugheen this afternoon with Finn. Took well over 200 photos, most of which were rubbish. I filtered out the better ones and uploaded them to Flickr. Check them out here. All of the photos are straight from the camera besides being cropped and/or resized for the web. The ones on flickr are available up to about 2000px wide/tall.
Here’s a sample:

Good craic ![]()
Unfortunately the rain started coming down heavily about half way through so they stopped the session to let everyone fit wet tyres. It got too wet to safely use my camera without worrying about damaging it by then.
2007 Faugheen 50
by Steve on Jul.27, 2007, under Ireland, Motors, Sport
The Faugheen 50 road races are on this weekend in Faugheen, Co. Tipperary – near Carrick-on-Suir. I’ll be going along with my camera unless the weather is really rubbish. I’ve never been before so I may end up with a crappy position to take photos from, but it should be good craic either way. Practice starts on Saturday at 13.00. Races on Sunday from 11.00.
What a bunch of cocks.

The cocks in question are the ruling government in Malaysia, who are now threatening to use their anti-terror laws to lock up bloggers who insult Islam or their king, because having an opinion that doesn’t match their world view is obviously terrorism. According to the BBC these laws allow, get this, indefinate detention without trial. Oh yes. Also, they have an election coming up, fancy that.
COCKS.
Karma

RTE News has a story this afternoon about a burglar that fell to his death after robbing a third floor apartment in Dublin.
The man had climbed up the outside of the building and clambered into an apartment, where a number of items were stolen.
It is thought that he lost his footing while climbing back down, sustaining fatal head injuries.
Boo fucking hoo.
WORST. SUMMER. EVER.
by Steve on Jul.14, 2007, under Ireland, Real Life™

I don’t think we’ve seen a rain-free day here in well over a month now. While April was gloriously sunny, June and July have been complete and utter washouts so far. Depressing.
Even C&C are complaining that the crap weather is completely screwing sales of Bulmers.
On a completely unrelated note, I ordered a new SB-400 flash for my Nikon D50 from good old eBay, as my built-in popup flash is knackered and Nikon won’t honour the warranty on my camera since I got it in the USA
