Windows Vista RC1 released

Nerd alert: Microsoft has released RC1 of Windows Vista (build 5600) to the public for download. Get it here. 32- and 64-bit flavours are available. Hopefully they’ve fixed it up a lot since beta 2, which refused to coexist with my graphics card.

Post a few screenshots when you get it installed.

I’ll probably install it tonight. Downloaded it last night - 2.5GB for the 32 bit version. Think its about 3GB for the 64 bit one. Will let ya know.

Wow, I can see already that it is a shitload better than Beta 2. Seems WAY faster. Had no problems with drivers this time. Just had to download nvidia graphics drivers and drivers for my sound card. I’m posting this comment from the built-in IE7+ beta.
My computer scores 4.0 on their “Windows Experience scale”.

Wow!! Looks pretty cool, wonder if my old dell laptop could take it or maybe by G5 for Dual Booting :)

It should work fine. It uses 3d acceleration for all that fancy shit, so if you’ve got any kind of 3d card it should be alright. Lots of RAM would be beneficial too!

I’m dual booting it with XP on my main pc at the moment. I installed it on a 10gig partition that I was using for Linux, and it barely fits. Had to move the page file to another disk to make room.
