Kilkenny Advertiser - PDF edition

You can now read the entire content of each week’s Kilkenny Advertiser in PDF format on their website, for free. Yes, I know its a free paper anyway, but this strikes me as a very handy way to get it. Dunno how long this service has been available, but long may it last!

Kilkenny Ring Road farce

Looks like the road works on the much-needed extension to the Kilkenny ring road have ceased again, for the second time in less than a year. The new part of the ring road comes very close to my house, and I can visually see that there’s bugger all going on there for the last few days.

After 13 months, only an eighth of the road has been completed. At the present rate of progress it will be 2014 before it is finished.
Under the terms of the contract the work is to be completed by next May.

What an utter clusterfuck. Regan Civil Engineering = wankers.

Pulp Fiction quotes

Pulp Fiction has got to be one of the most quotable films ever.

See here.

For example:

[after Butch saves Marsellus from rapists]
Butch: You okay?
Marsellus: Naw man. I’m pretty fuckin’ far from okay.
Butch: What now?
Marsellus: What now? Let me tell you what now. I’ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin’ niggers, who’ll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin’, hillbilly boy? I ain’t through with you by a damn sight. I’ma get medieval on your ass.
Butch: I meant what now between me and you?
Marsellus: Oh, that what now. I tell you what now between me and you. There is no me and you. Not no more.

Quality.

Carlow: home of Ireland’s only gay resort

Anyone hear the news (username and password required, try gorram@gmail.com/gorram) today that Cosmo Brown’s on Tullow St is to become Ireland’s first gay resort hotel?
Carlow town council are not happy, they had somebody on The Last Word with Matt Cooper today opposing it and waffling about how they’re trying to redevelop Tullow St as more of a shopping area than a nightspot… Considering all of Carlow’s nightclubs and many of its pubs are on this street I don’t see how that’d work anyway.

Rumour has it they’re painting the whole place (Cosmo’s, not Tullow St…) pink. I shit you not.

‘I gave it a good deal of thought,’ Edward O’Donoghue told the Carlow People, ‘and I decided to go with it. Gay people need to be looked after, too. The pink pound is very strong and hopefully, it’ll be successful.’

lol!

Instant Justice

I had posted this over on tcal.net forgetting about their no violence policy, so it got moderated. May as well stick it up here so! YouTube have disabled embedding for this clip so you’ll have to view it the old fashioned way.

That shithead really experienced instant karma.
