The Cat Laughs is almost upon us

The 2006 Smithwick’s Cat Laughs festival kicks off in a mere 38 hours, and I have just secured a last minute ticket to see Phil Kay on Sunday in Kyteler’s. Woohoo! The weather’s shaping up to be pretty good this weekend too — Kilkenny publicans are going to make a fortune.

Might see if I can grab tickets to some of the other shows over the weekend too, last year was a blast. That said, last year I was clever enough to book the tickets in advance, rather than have this ticketless muppet situation I’m in now…

This one amuses the toilet-humour fan in me:

My sister worked in a music shop in kilkenny a few years back. A lady came in looking for a Stereophonics tune- ” Ahh, I think the name of it is Handbags and Jamrags”.

It took everything she had not to laugh in the woman’s face.
