Google’s latest freebie

by Steve on Apr.27, 2006, under Internet, Nerdism

Google SketchUp – free and (relatively) easy 3D modelling for the unwashed masses! Currently only available for Windows, but apparently a Mac OS version is in the pipeline. All it will cost you is… whatever downloading 19MB costs you… time? I’m quite impressed.

by Steve on Apr.23, 2006, under Ireland, Photos

Here’s a photo I took a couple of weeks ago. Its a view of Dungarvan from the Cork road, cropped down a lot for the web. I think it came out pretty well.

Been quiet here recently

by Steve on Apr.21, 2006, under Motors, Real Life™

  • got the Scrubs season 1 DVD set
  • and have lots of other TV shows to watch

So in short, I haven’t had much time to spent farting about here. The garage gave me the use of a Hyundai Accent 1.3 for the day whilst they had my Coupe in (sunroof needed fixing). After getting used to the low driving position and centre of gravity of the Coupe, the Accent felt like it was going to roll over every time it approached a corner. The ‘06 Accent was classic Irish poverty spec – feck all in the way of modern conveniences besides power steering and electric windows. Can’t say I’d ever want to buy one — very glad to have my own car back again.

‘Crazy’

by Steve on Apr.11, 2006, under Music

Damn this song is catchy. The song in question is ‘Crazy‘, by Gnarls Barkley (aka DJ Dangermouse and Cee-Lo), currently topping the charts (*spit*) in both the UK and Ireland and probably several other countries too.

Top tune.

A new set of wheels

by Steve on Apr.08, 2006, under Motors, Real Life™

I just made a deal and shook hands with a local motor dealer, for this:

Hyundai Coupe FX

Its a 1.6 litre Hyundai Coupe FX. Much as I would have liked a 2 litre version, its uninsurable for me. Got a fairly decent trade in price for my ‘00 Fiesta too. I’ll have it midweek sometime \o/
