MAKE CHUGGERS HISTORY

After reading this (quite entertaining) thread on boards.ie and this article on “Chuggers” - charity muggers - you know, those gimps that follow you down the street even though you’ve already declined their offer to support [insert cause here] - I think we should start a Make Chuggers History campaign.
We could have a live8 type event too, with the stars of the music world coming together in solidarity against these hi-vis vest wearing, commission-earning wankers.

You’re Not a Star

The Irish Independent (bugmenot required) reports today that RTE’s “You’re a Star” will no longer be used to select Ireland’s Eurovision entrants, as all three entrants selected by the show failed miserably.
Sadly, they’re not canning the show altogether, as they make lots of money out of the telephone/text voting and it continues to get good ratings.

EA in lame franchise whores shocker!

As I read over at TCAL, Electronic arts are releasing 26 games during the rest of this year. Only ONE game is an original, the rest are all sequels, and sequels of sequels, and so on.

Good to see that they’re making the effort to publish some innovative, new and original titles.
Gimps.

Discovery lands safely

Space shuttle Discovery has landed safely in California. I bet those guys were bricking it on re-rentry!

Success!
Success!

“Irish showjumping in crisis!”

According to RTE News, Irish showjumping is in crisis. According to me, who gives a shit?

Who fuckin' cares, Willis?

Phrases I hate

‘Bespoke’

‘Turnkey’

Users of such bullshit expressions will be shot on sight.
They remind me of this.

I saw this over on Mike’s blog, and found it very amusing indeed.
Enjoy.

Staircase bong

Read this on lowbrow.com (great site, think overheardindublin.com but more, well, depraved):

not mine, but this needs to be documented here for sure:

i have this friend, he works with his dad, doing carpentry and stuff, dad specializes in ornate staircases.

Did a staircase for his buddy once, a sweeping curving grand staircase kind of thing.

it was a BONG.

pack it at the bottom, smoke it at the top, whammo your smoking out of your house.

that man is my personal hero.

I wonder if you could rig a whole house with piping, structured cabling style, for easy bong access in any room? :)

Bell-end of the Week: Ayman al-Zawahri

Ayman al-Zawahri - a shithead

Osama Bin Laden’s right hand man, Ayman al-Zawahri is this week’s lucky winner. He wins a romantic night out on the town with the enigmatic Derek Mooney. Give him a round of applause.

This week, in the usual video-on-Al-Jazeera style, he threatened more attacks on London. What a bell-end.
