Go faster stripe

I saw this Honda Civic in the Carlow IT car park. Check out the stripe on the bonnet constructed from masking tape. Classy indeed. The picture was taken with a camera phone so image quality isn’t the best.

Carlow water “safe” again

From RTE News:

People in Carlow who had to boil water before drinking it for the past 40 days have been advised the supply is now safe to drink.

The council was advised by the Health Service Executive to issue the ‘Boil Water’ notices 40 days ago after the cryptosporidium bug was detected in the supply.

It caused vomiting, cramps and diarrhoea and a number of people had to be hospitalised.

Carlow County Council has now lifted the notice but it still cannot say how the bug got into the water.

Not being able to use water for stuff like brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc for over a month without boiling it first was becoming quite a pain in the ass. Rampant rumours around Carlow mention a little something about several dead sheep being found in the reservoir around the time of the boil-water notice.

Bell-end of the week: Mother of three slappers blames UK Govt

This one is just crying out for bell-end of the week.

I can’t believe this stupid bitch (again on Sky News) - Julie Atkins, a mother of three girls who gave birth between the ages of 12 and 16 blames the UK government and the school system for the fact that all three of them became pregnant before leaving school. This is the same old horseshit - its NEVER the parents at fault. Just like when someone’s little darling performs a school shooting, or is involved in some other undesirable event (hey, such as teenage pregnancy), the parenting is never called into question, as there’s always a convenient scapegoat such as computer games, movies or their taste in music to lay the blame on.
And even worse, these three slappers and their mother are living rent free in a council house with benefits of approximately £30,000 per year between them.

The Sky News article mentions the fact that these three are the only teenage mothers in their school. That would suggest that schooling is not, in fact, the problem, but perhaps SHITTY PARENTING IS.

Meath bus crash

I was watching people arguing about the BBC strikes on Sky News a few minutes ago when one of their massive news flash banners popped up at the bottom of the screen, screaming about a bus crash in Co. Meath.

Apparently its a serious accident - A Bus Eireann school bus had overturned on the Kentstown Road near Navan. They’re saying that over a dozen ambulances have been called to the scene, along with fire trucks and Gardaí.
RTE now says there are 4 confirmed dead out of the 47 on the bus.

Holy shit.

Update: RTE and Sky now both say 5 dead, all of them teenage girls. Also, there were nine ambulance crews plus three military helicopters on the scene.

River rescue

I have no idea why everybody was pointing and laughing at this guy when he was pulled out of the river by Graiguecullen bridge in Carlow.

Eurovision

The Eurovision was full of hilarious territorial/political voting yet again, which made it surprising that Greece actually won.
I quite liked the hot sexy Israeli entry:

hot sexy Israeli woman

The four guaranteed-entry big countries all came in the 4 lowest ranks too. Well played UK, France, Germany and Spain!

Its been a long time coming

Eighteen years of formal education will finally be coming to an end for me next week once I demonstrate my final year project - then I am OUT OF HERE!

WoOoOOoOooooOOoooO!!!

Bell-end of the week

This week’s bell-end is Fianna Fáil’s very own Conor Lenihan, minister of state at the Depatment of Foreign Affairs, who this week referred to the Turkish workers being exploited by construction company GAMA as “kebabs” in the Dáil. Well done, bell-end.

Proof that You’re A Star does not work

So, anyone who saw that comedy show on RTE a few minutes ago will know that “Donna and Joe” failed to qualify for this weekend’s Euro cheese fest.

Please RTE, bury You’re a Star under a particularly large rock.

Norway for the win!

New Maddox

Prepare to laugh.
